There is definitely some truth that baldness is caused by hereditary factors, but this is not always the case. Being overweight or obese can also cause one to lose hair, particularly for women.
It has been known for quite some time that hair loss is caused by hormonal problems. For men, hormonal problems (particularly with testosterone) can lead to balding. However constant stress or excess fat can also wreak havoc hormonally and have the same effect.

While reading the paper one day, I found out that the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) had fined various companies due to misleading advertisements for weight loss products. Some of the products targeted includedTrimSpa®, CortiSlim®, Xenadrine EFX® and One-A-Day® (by Bayer). Bayer ended up paying the highest fine (3.2 million).
The FTC came down hard on these particular brands because every one of them had been advertised as a natural supplement that would boost your metabolism and suppress your appetite without any effort on your part. In other words, they were promoted as “miracle” pills that could still help you lose weight without having to eat healthy or exercise.
It has been estimated that at any time of the year, about 38% of the US population are on some sort of diet or exercising program trying to lose weight. The sad thing is that nearly 95% of them end up abandoning their efforts, and for the few that are successful, even fewer have success in maintaining it.
Meanwhile, we are bombarded daily with advertisements and other media using models reflecting how we “should look”. It seems as if great part of what we see on television and in the press indicates that we are all overweight.
From my experience, most people who start on a diet fail only because they have the wrong goal of “losing weight”. The fact of the matter is, it isn’t that we have too much weight – it’s that we have too much FAT. There is a difference.

In fact, if you read the labels of food, you’ll likely find that this sweetener is used in nearly all prepared foods.
